I never found a note editor that I liked that was fast. There was Obsidian, but its startup time was very slow even after several optimization attempts. So I built Rustidian.
The aim is familiar Obsidian workflows with a native Rust interface and fast everyday use. Notes stay in ordinary Markdown folders. The Linux alpha already includes live, source and reading modes, linked notes, search and global/local graphs.
I don't want to wait until every feature is finished before sharing it. Full feature and visual parity is still work in progress. Canvas, Bases, math and parts of Settings are incomplete, and existing Obsidian JavaScript plugins do not run here.
If you try it, tell me which everyday workflow gets in your way. Reproducible bugs and contributions in Rust/egui, Markdown editing, accessibility and Linux integration are welcome.
